Prayer for the Elderly
Please dear Lord, let the Doctors heal what they can, let us pray for miracles to save our loved ones and take away their pain and suffering. If there is no quality of life, please take them to their home in Heaven where they can reunite with those who have gone before them and who now enjoy sharing in the wonder of Your light. All honor and glory to You , Lord Jesus, thank You for all You have given us, Your children. May Your will be done. Amen.
Update - about 1 year ago:
Mom is comfortable and has no pain.
The doctor cannot believe it. The priest annointed her a few days ago. I spend as much time with her as I can as I know the time is slipping away. I try to make her feel better by doing her hair, makeup, nails, facial, etc. and reading scripture to her. Thank you for all your prayers and support. I belong to a retreat team (ACTS) and I can't begin to tell you all how wonderful a support system that has been. It is like this site - only in person. I list everyone (the site) in my list of intentions every week. It is truly awesome and inspiring to see the Lord's love at work. Peace and Blessings to everyone.
Update - about 1 year ago:
I need your prayers my brothers and sisters. Mom is getting worse and now has pneumonia. Every time I see her she slips away a little more. Please through the Lord's grace let me be what I need to be for my Mom now. If there is some way I can make anything easier for her or bring her joy in any way, please show me how Dear Lord. I must say I am very fortunate to still have her here,but these are the most difficult days of my entire life. Thank you for all the support and prayers you have given me. They are so appreciated and powerful. I just pray now for strength and a peaceful passing when God calls Mom home. Amen
Update - about 1 year ago:
Thank you for all your prayers. I feel like I am really being tested now. Yesterday Mom's left hand swelled to three times it's normal size. They think it may be a blood clot, cellulitis. They say there is a huge mass under the black bruise. Just developed overnite. She has been in a lot of pain. I'll meet with the doc tomorrow. I really appreciate all your prayers and thoughts during this difficult time. My prayers include you all. We are truly blessed to have our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Thank you, Sister, for your prayers. It is getting more difficult by the day. Through prayer comes peace in knowing that Mom will be with the Lord soon. I pray mostly that she will be spared any more pain. She has truly been a wonderful Mother and has had a great life. For that we give thanks to Him every minute. May the Lord show you favor as well. How lovely - one of the most devout women I have known was my Gram who passed at 101 and a 1/2 years last Thanksgiving. Bless you for this prayer - and I addd my prayers to this one. :-) In Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank you so much for your kindness. So many people look at the elderly as disposable. We have so much to learn from them and they have seen so much. Mom gave us a wonderful childhood and family values. That is priceless. May the good Lord let us all attain that age (or that of your Gram) with the same grace and love of God so that we may be with Him eternally. Amen.
