have you heard of manuka honey? they make it in pre-soaked strips for surgical and other wounds. it has been around a long time. i really believe it would help heal your dads wounds too.

someone turned me on to it a while back, and i know that it heals ulcerations and other health problems. some burn centers are using it too.
