Hi Alas! I also have a diagnosis of Bipolar, but I have stabilised, and my finances are beginning to look healthy for the first time in a long time! Wish I had time to tell you my whole story, but, some other time. My worst "low" was in 1994, when I ended up on a life support machine after a near successful overdose. My hypomania/ mania stripped me of cash time and time again. So, how have I stabilised? First, it's ALWAYS a day at a time, with the Lord in as full control of my life as I can manage, through surrendering to His Will for me. I use the 12 steps of the A.A. programme most days (learnt from getting my drinking under control.) I take Sodium Valproate every day (just one dose at bedtime.) Not sure how much this helps, but I need all the help I can get! Next, I have reorganised my life to be as stress-free as possible. I am poorer, because I am off the work treadmill (was a workaholic too!) but a lot happier! The book that helped me most was "GOD'S DEBT-FREE GUARANTEE" available on-line, I think, from JOHN AVANZINI'S MINISTRIES. I borrowed the book, but wrote down the principles and scriptures needed to defeat the Giant GOLIATH of DEBT in our lives.
