My son will be coming home October 7, 2007 for 18 days R&R. I'm not sure I will get to see him. He is stationed at Ft. Riley Kansas. He needs time w/his family. I don't want to interfer w/that. My husband & I think it is very important that he spends time w/just them. My prayer for my son, safe trip home; a wonderful visit w/his family. To be at peace & rest his mind/body of all war. To be himself. I can not tell you how are it is to give up your child to adulthood!

Joel is a man of faith - Please bring my baby home. Lord, bless the family down from us - they lost their son-in-law 2 weeks ago. He was a helicopter pilot, Army. I didn't know this young man - bless his family. Bring peace, love, harmony into their lives. Lord, this was to close to home. Bring all our children home. In Jesus name, Amen.

This time next week Joel should be home. This family is very excited. Emma, Ethan & Ezra have planned a camping trip w/Daddy. I don't know if Joel will feel like camping - the poor man just wants to be in his own bed not the ground - AGAIN! But I know he'll go & never say a word. Shannon has been cleaning & counting the days. David & I just hope we get to see him for a few hours or minutes at the airport. He'll be home for 18 days, then back til August 2008. I pray the Lord will bring them all back before then.
Lord in Heaven hear my Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank you for protecting my son; for protecting all his men; for loving us; sacrificing for all of us. Keep our men safe on their journey home to their loving families. Let this be a wonderful visit - Let Joel /Shannon shine! I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

The journey home has begun. Joel is enroute to Kwait. Then to the US! Lord in Heaven Hear my Prayer; Keep our soldiers safe in their journey back to their families. We know this is a short visit - but we THANK YOU for all the protection you have given them & keeping them in good spirits. Let this be a wonderful homecoming for all. I ask this Lord, in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

Blessings to all! Thank you for all your prayers - good thoughts and wish's for Joel & his family. It's been a very long weekend. He's not here yet! Joel called yesterday 10/8/07 & he's flying into Dallas/Ft. Worth - then on to Kansas! Should arrive @5PM central time today. Shannon & the kids will be there w/open arms. I'm so happy for all of them. Now I'm waiting for the phone call - HE'S HOME! We didn't get to see him, because he didn't fly into Atlanta, but prayfully - he'll have a layover on the way back, in Atlanta. We just want to look @him - See his beautiful smile. God has blessed him and his men. They are now safe.

I'm a little late in telling all of you THANK YOU for all your prayers and well wish's for Joel's visit. He spent his 18 days of R&R in Kansas w/his family. They had a wonderful visit. I was blessed w/2hours on his way back to Iraq. The USO called me & told me where to pickup up my passes at the Atlanta Airport to meet Joel at the Gate upon his arrival. It was a good visit - Just to see his beautiful smile - He's thinner, but looked good. My heart ached when we had to let him go. Soldiers where coming in from all over to catch the chartered flight back to war. Must have been 200 going back. Looking at all the young faces proudly wearing an American Uniform made me cry. All were so young - just babies. I pray each one comes back unharmed, unscared & full of love for mankind. The horrible things they have had to do & see to much for their young lives. I ask all of you to continue to pray for these brave men and women who love their country and peace. Bless all of you!

2 new pictures from October 28, 2007 taken @ Atlanta Airport - Joel & Dad. Joel is on his way back to Iraq. We haven't heard from him in 10 days. They tell us no news is good news! Not to me! Lord - my son is in your hands. Please send your armies to take care of him and all the men/women in his company. Bring them home - bring all of our soldiers home. Joel's heart is in trouble. He needs all your prayer's. Joel is still serving OUR COUNTRY IN IRAQ.
He will not be able to return until August 08. His wife Shannon, doesn't know if she loves him anymore - has repeatly told him this. That she is going to leave him; divorce him; maybe not divorce, just needs a break. I don't know from day to day what is going on w/her. They are located at Ft. Riley. Shannon took the kids out of school & gone to visit w/her family in VA. Joel re-inlisted 2 months ago. The army gave him a very larg bonus & we found out yesterday, Shannon spent it all. She is crushing my Son. He loves her so much & his children. I know their are two sides to every story. I just don't know what Shannon's story is right now. I'm trying very hard not to judge her - I pray that the Lord in Heaven will take her down to her knees & open her eyes to see what all she has.
Joel I pray he gets to come home very soon & that the Lord in Heaven will shake him to think about the job at hand & stay focused. He doesn't need to worry about what is going on here at home. I know it's very hard for him, when you have someone you love very much & your not sure if they will be waiting for you when you come home.
PLEASE pray for my son & his family.

SHANNON has asked for a divorce. Presently, she's at her parents in VA. Does not want to work it out. Joel is heart-broken, but I have to say he sounds much stronger. Thank you!
