We just received the pathology report on the biopsy this morning, our worst fears were confirmed, it is a Grade 4. Our wonderful brother will begin treatment this Friday or Monday. Please continue to pray for him, and also his loving girlfriend Donna who has not left his side, and for all of my brothers and sisters that they too find the strength and the will to cope with this news. Thank you all for the prayers that we have received. God Bless you all !

Ricky started his radiation therapy yesterday. The Dr. told us more results have returned on the biopsy. We are not only dealing with a Glioblastoma, but it is a mixed tumor. So they will be treating 2 different tumors instead of one which will be more complicated. Please pray for Ricky to respond, successfully and quickly, to this therapy as the tumor has already grown since the biopsy one week ago today. Please pray that he keeps his faith, and also for his energy and health to continue while he goes through physical therapy, radiation and chemo treatments. Please pray for my brothers and sisters who will take turns going to Texas to be there for support and to help Ricky with all that he goes through day to day.

I just want to thank you all for your prayers, Ricky has begun radiation and chemo now, and through his daily therapy visits is regaining strength each day. Thank you all for your prayers for Ricky. He was able to leave Rehab Friday and finally go home. He will still be going in for radiation and rehab, and he is responding to the treatments very well. Please continue to pray for him. Also please pray for us as we travel to Dallas this week to be with him during a benefit being held for him, and that it goes well to help him with the financial side of this illness. October 8, 2007, I just returned home from traveling to Texas with some of my family to attend the benefit held for Ricky. It was such a surprise to see him walking on his own without the aid of a walker. It has been such a miracle already in the way he has responded to the treatments, he has even surprised the Drs. There was a great turn-out for the benefit for him and we are so thankful to the Lord that so many people attended. We are so thankful too, for all your continued prayers. May God Bless each and everyone of you and hear your prayers.

I really want you all to know how much your prayers have meant to us. Since being home Ricky has been able to read your prayers and is touched by the generousity of you all as you all have your own prayers that need answered. He is so thankful to each of you for taking time to pray for him. Through all the prayers being said here, and our own prayers with family and friends, we all know this iswhat is truly helping him improve through the assistance of the Doctors and chemo and radiation treatments. God Bless each of you, and may all your prayers be answered.

A quick update. Rick is finished with radiation now and his first round of chemo. He will have an MRI on November 19th to check the progress of his treatments. Please pray that the results will come back good. Thank you all for your prayers. May you all receive God's Blessings and answered prayers.

The doctors decided to do an MRI yesterday (the 8th) as Rick was starting to regress on his physical therapy, his right side seemed to be losing strength. The MRI showed the tumor had shrunk but not as much as they had hoped for but there are also black spots in it, which is good news. They also found a fluid build up around the tumor and started him on a stronger dose of steriods. They are going to go ahead with the MRI on the 19th as planned. Please pray the fluid has gone down and that his strength returns. Also please pray for Rick to remain strong in his faith, that it does not waiver with these little setbacks, and he continues to have the positive outlook he already has. Rick is going for surgery today to have a shunt put in to relieve the fluid that keeps building around the tumor. Please pray for the surgery to go well. As always with surgery there is the possiblity of infection, will you please pray with us also for no infection. Your prayers are so greatly appreciated, thank you all and may God Bless each of you.

Rick has gone to Huston for further treatment. He and Donna were told the tumor has grown and not responded as well to the previous radiation and chemo as originally thought. He is beginning a "combo" treatment of new chemo this afternoon Nov 28th. Please pray with us that this new chemo will work and rid Rick of this tumor and his strength and health is restored. 12/11/07 Rick has his 1st treatment almost 2 weeks ago and will have his 2nd treatment this Thursday. He is feeling very well and actually working a bit, I can only imagine how good that feels for him. The next day after his treatment he is traveling to SD to be with our family for Christmas. Please continue praying for him, that this treatment will distroy this tumor. Also I ask that you pray for all who are traveling to be with their families and loved ones this holiday season. Rick and Donna was able to come home to South Dakota for Christmas. What a blessing the Lord gave us to spend this precious time with them. Rick is doing very well at this time, Hopefully the combo chemo treatment is working. He went home to have the 3rd treatment on January 2nd. They will soon do an MRI to see if the chemo is helping. Please continue to pray for him. May God bless us all with answered prayers this New Year.

Thank you all for your prayers. Rick has had 2 MRI's now and there is some shrinkage to the tumor with the chemo treatments he has been on. He has also had a shunt put in to relieve the dontinuous fluid building up and putting pressure on his brain. He has been back to work and feeling well. Please continue praying for him. I'm sorry I haven't updated in a long time. Rick is doing well, still taking Chemo, and will have another MRI in a couple weeks. He is home with us for 2 weeks and it has been a blessing for our family to spend this time with him. This weekend we (all 9 of the siblings) will be together for the first time in 15 years. Praise the Lord that he made this possible. Thank you all for your continued prayers. We are still praying for a miracle that the Lord will heal Rick completely from this tumor.
