JOSEPH DIDN'T SEE IT COMING { UPDATED OCT. 15 }
Joe is just the good boy next door. Like I said I am proud to be his mother, and his father likewise. Joe works for USDA and also with handicapped children. He gives his time unselfessly. Joe just wanted to settle down. A friend introduced him to a girl about his own age [late 20's]. They dated and he thought he found THE ONE. She had a son from a previous marriage that is pre-teen age. Joe embrassed them both into his life. Joe ask her to marry him and she said yes. Joe starts to look for a home to buy for them. Joe gets the ring and she takes it [ notice i didn't say accept]. Now a baby is on the way and Joe couldn't be happier. What should be a happy time, suddenly turns into a nightmare. She tells Joe she wants the baby to have her ex's last name. Why? Joe has been going to her church with her since they became a couple, so she could have the wedding there. Joe had attended various churches growing up and had a very open mind. Joe is very knowledgeable about the Bible. In high school he graduated 2nd in his class of about 100. She calls Joe saturday night to say she is sick and can't go to church sunday. Joe goes a sits with her grandmother as he has been doing. After service he goes to her father's trailer where she stays with another man [ just a friend? ] to see if she is feeling better. She is gone. She went to spend the day with her ex. In the course of a few days Joe gets an e-mail at noon time saying she is done with him. Joe heads back to work and passes her going back to work also. So Joe turns to catch up with her to see about what was wrong and if the ultrasound they were to go to in a few days was still on. Joe had many questions but wasn't really able to remember what to say. nothing was answered and they each went to work angain, again they happened to pass each other in the small town as each took a different back road. After work , less than 5 hours from receiving the e-mail, Joe tries again to ask her what is wrong. He is sitting in his truck at the end of her driveway and she calls the cops. He arrives, not much is really going on , she won't answer the phone. So the cop tells Joe maybe he better leave her along for awhile. She denied to the cop that Joe was a boyfriend, let alone a finace, and they were expecting a baby. Joe has never been in any trouble. Not even a speeding ticket., or a fine of any kind. She pressed stalking charges against him. Joe is sick with all of this. At one time she pressed stalking charges agaist her ex. I'm not sure what is going on with her, but Joe said she told him that she was abused by her ex. Beaten and left. This girl is hurting, and feels she can't trust anyone. Joe will not go back to her. I feel she is a loose canon, and she is only trouble, until she gets help. Now we are not sure who the baby belongs to. But I am sure she is not through with Joe. I only hope God's hand will guide him. You don't know how I felt when they handcuffed Joe and took him to jail. I cried everyday he was in there. He is back and he has hired a good lawyer. The first lawyer took his money and kept saying don't worry. Ha. He was grossly under prepared. Didn't even file an appeal. There was no way to prepared for the lies she told in court. For example the engagement ring wasn't for an engagement [ it was just a gift ]
What I get from all this is she wanted to trap her ex with a baby and used Joe to make sure it happened fast. I think the baby may well be her ex's. May her and her ex live happily ever after.
I think Joe is fighting a person comsumed with evil, and will need help that is stronger than evil, Praise God. I pray that this was all for a reason we don't understande yet. That it will have a outcome far better than we ever hoped for . in Jesus name Amen
Update - about 1 year ago:
I'm sorry for not updating, but really was waiting for something new to add. Joe did go and see a new lawyer and she gave him some advice. She gave him the paper to file the appeal himself. Said she never entered a case at this point before. Wondered why his first Lawyer did not do it that day at court. He would not have gone to jail. Anyway we are waiting for the transcripts of the trial to come back for her to go over and then we will go from there. She said she LOVES doing appeals. Thats good! But we are really waiting for the transcripts for her to check them out.
Joe lost his Maine drivers lisence and therefore could not continue his job that required him to drive around northern maine. But he was offered two jobs and he accepted one of them. He is working with special needs children. He helps his father and me on the farm, and he builds crafts.
I know it stills bothers him about what he thinks others think about him.
He is very proud to be a young man with morals.
As far as the ex-girlfriend, we have not run into her or seen her. Thank God !
IF I never see her again, it will be too so.
Update - 12 months ago:
Joe received his transcripts from the trial and will be giving it to his new lawyer this week. I am so praying that she will find something in it that will help her help Joe so the real truth will come out.
IPlease, I beg of you to help me pray that his new lawyer will have clarity of mind when she looks it over. I know your prayers are helping me and Joe. I feel very optimistic and I owe that to all the love and support and prayers that you all have given. But I really have to Praise God first. For without him I don't know what I would do. Thank You God for your never ending strength and Love.
I pray that I can return the favor to each of you with a prayer also.

Dear Saint Anthony, you were prompt to fulfill all justice. You gave God and His creation the service He required from you. You respected other people's rights and treated them with kindness and understanding. Saint Anthony, Zealous for Justice, teach me the beauty of this virtue. Make me prompt to fulfill all justice toward God and toward all creation. Help me also in my pressing needs. I now ask that same Justice for Joseph. That the truth will set him free from these charges.

thank you for praying for my daughter again. she is no longer getting chemo but praise God the cancer is not growing. i don't think the doctors know what is keeping her alive but i know, it's God and all the prayers. it's been a year since they sent her home with 2 weeks to live. so continue to pray for her. I will continue to pray for your son joe. that no weapon formed against him shall prosper and any tongue that rises against him in judgement he shall show to be in the wrong. in the mighty name of Jesus. amen

Dear Rettagee,
You left a prayer a few days ago for my sister, Stacy, shortly after I learned of her ovarian cancer diagnosis. I was so trusting in God and so SURE of a positive outcome, that I had the wind knocked out of me when I learned what she was facing. But before I took down my prayer request, I printed out the prayer you left for me "Jesus, help me". I said it every one of the last five days, and now no longer am in that dark place. I am now feeling much better and more confident. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for leaving me that prayer -- it truly helped.

......I went back to the prayer "Jesus, help me" to reread it and I don't have it any more under your prayer request that I responded to.....But that is alright. I try to find just the right prayer for the right person and if I don't I will write one myself. And I only go to prayers that I am 'moved' to answer. Alot of times I will read a prayer then something makes me move on to another. I will even feel quilty sometimes, but then I will get caught up in a prayer that I feel that I must answer. I even started prayers that I could not think of a word to say and then I would just move on. I don't know if anyone else has the same experience with answering prayers but this is how it works for me..SO ,SHORT STORY GOING LONG, I am glad that prayer brought you out of that dark place but I am sure that it was from a heavenly source and not me. I was just the instrument and I Thank God that I was here to be used. I am so sorry to hear about Stacy but I feel that all will be right. Thank You for taking the time to relay your feelings about the prayer. I know this must be a stressful time for you. You both will be in my prayers. I feel humbled. Praise God !

Dear Lord and Saint Anthony, PLease bless this situation with truth, clarity, and justice. Please stay by Joe, giving him strength, courage and faith that all will soon be well and his name will be cleared. Please guide his lawyer with all she needs to know to go into this case confident and fully informed. May Joe move on happily with his life leaving this unfortunate incident behind forever. Know that I really care about what Joe's future holds for him. Heavenly Father, I pray that Joe's Lawyer will have the wisdom and knowledge to bring the truth out in the open. Joe is a loving boy and has been trapped because of it. Please get him out of this web and away from the evil woman who did not merit his love in the first place. Thank You Tammy, I don't know what the Lord has in mind for Joe yet, But maybe she will have to pay the price in the future if she is found to have lied under oath. And if the baby is Joe's this [ her deception ] may just have a bearing on just how the courts may veiw her. I hope that all turns out well and that there is no more of her drama. It would be a clean break if the baby is not Joe's and then he would not have to deal with her ever again. THANK YOU TAMMY for listening?
