Prayers for Jakayla

A very good friend of mine and co-worker has just learned that her 12 year old daughter, Jakayla has been diagnosed with Leukemia. She is having such a hard time with this. Please keep her and the family in your prayers as they struggle with this. Jakayla is such a sweet and fun loving little girl and I hate to see her suffer like this.

Update - 10 months ago:

Jakayla got good news last Friday. She was able to go home!! However, she had a seizer last night (Saturday) and had to go back to the hospital. She now has fluid on her brain. Please continue to pray for this precious little girl and her family. They are so tired and are ready to get back to their old life. Please give them strength.

Update - 7 months ago:

Jakayla is so sick. Lord I pray you will deliver this child from the pain she is in. She can't keep anything down and had to be admitted to the hospital again this weekend. Her mother is so tired and so is Jakayla. Please take this cancer from her. Please restore this chid so that she can be a kid again and do the things she used to do like bring us so much joy. I pray she will have the strength to get through this- all she wants to do is give up.

Update - 6 months ago:

Please continue to pray for Jakayla. She has suffered so. She is so weak. The radiation is so hard on her little body. She has so many mouth sores. She is on her way back to the hospital because she needs fluids and can't keep anything down. She is now down to 87 lbs. I pray that God will release her from this cancer and restore her body! Her family needs strentgh- they are so tired. God please be with her tonight for another stay in the hospital. Being 12 and having to go through all of this is just too much. Please pray for her. thank you dear friends.

Update - 6 months ago:

Jakayla went home yesterday but is still having trouble keeping anything down. The mucus gives her a very hard time but at least she is bringing that up. She is in so much pain but the doctors don't want to give her anything until she gets a little better. She is such a sweet little girl and wants to feel better if only for a day. As my own children complain about going back to school tomorrow I remind them that Jakayla hasn't been able to go all year and how she misses her friends. None of her friends come around anymore and that has been really hard on her. Thank you for all your prayers and kind words.

Update - 6 months ago:

Things have gotten worse for little Jakayla. Last Friday she went back for more chemo and now she weighs 83lbs. To be 12 years and going through this is too much. Because she isn't eating they put a feeding tube in her. But she continues to throw up all the time. It became to much for her last night that she pulled it out of her. She went back today and they put it back. Her mother is at the end of her rope and is so depressed as is Jakayla. I asked Jakayla what I could do for her and she said "just let me die". It breaks my heart to hear a 12 year old saying things like that. Please I beg you to pray her out of this Hell. Please pray the cancer will leave her and that she will be free from this Leukemia. Please pray she will be a fun playful little girl again soon.Thank you all for all your prays. I pray many blessings upon you. In His Name~Amen.

Update - 6 months ago:

Jakayla is doing better! Thank you so much for all the prayers! She got to come home yesterday afternoon but is still very weak and still has the feeding tube - but we can work through that. She is taking meds that help her keep the food down but still needs to gain weight. She has started another round of chemo and will be on that for about 20 more days. Her mother was able to get some rest during the hospital stay but is now back to round the clock - something the nurses were able to do for her- so she needs strentgh now too! They are such a God-fearing family and knows that He is with them. Prayer and faith is what keeps them going. Thank you again for your prayers. In Him, marylee
