Denied Visitor's Visa
My fiancee's Visitor's VISA to come to Canada was denied on the grounds that the Zimbabwean Government does not think that he will return. This matter has been extremely taxing for us both. My fiancee has decided that things are too difficult for him to bear and has suggested that we end our relatonship. We are taking a break for a few days and I will be talking to him again on Sunday. It is sad to think that outside forces could pull us apart when we've worked so hard thus far. I had suggested getting married in Zimbabwe and processing our papers here, but he's afraid to stand up to his family about marrying a white woman. Even with a marriage certificate, he could be denied for some time. I told him that I'd like to visit him in December, but would like to marry then. He does not feel ready for this, but did if he came to Canada. I am completely heartbroken. It is my prayer that God would give him a fighting heart for us between now and Sunday and that he would reconsider wanting to throw in the towel. I met him while I was serving in missions between December 2006 and June 2007. We have been together since December 31, 2006. Please pray for renewed, faith and hope for our relationship as well as a plan and a purpose. Ronald feels very demoralized and tried by the hardships going on in Zimbabwe right now and the denied VISA tipped him over the edge. I love this man. It is my prayer that we would persevere and that God would lead the way, putting intercessors in our path who will help us. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus ~ amen. Thank you for your prayers!
Update - 8 months ago:
This evening my partner emailed me that he feels compelled to write a letter to the embassy so that I can spak to them to find out more about why he was denied. We may reapply, but if this doesn't work then I will likely visit him in December. God has done what I prayed for. He's moved in Ronald's heart so that he is not giving up but trying to find new ways. This is a big step forward. He's basically saying that he loves me and is willing to fight for us. My continued prayer is that he continues to fight for vision and purpose so that, if I must return to Zimbabwe, then we are serving the Lord togehter for His Glory! Thanks for your prayers everyone. They are working! Love you.
Update - 8 months ago:
The Embassy in Zimbabwe still needs to get back to me about why they denied Ronald's VISA, but I spoke to my fiancee tonight and he is agreeable to me going there in December so that we can marry there. The idea of marriage scares him, as it does many men (lol), but he's commited to our relationship. While it is my prayer that Ronald would be able to come here as planned, it is just as fine for me to go there to marry him and then process his immigration papers here. Who knows? I might end up working and living in Zimbabwe, in which case I could care for and be around orphaned children. Praises to God that He answered my prayers of helping us to find a way through this, persevere in our relationship and follow after him. I ask that you prayer for Ronald and I to stay strong, standing against all forms of temptation (sexuality, immoral behaviour, drinking, self sufficiencey, etc.) during this additional time of separation, that Ronald and I would continue to press into the Lord for guidance, wisdom and the power to carry it out as well as Ronald being able to make the necessary marriage arrangements from his end. Also, I pray that that Zimbabwe will let me back into the country given the current economic and political upheavals. Thanks to all who have prayed for us. This is still a work in progress. Update - 8 months ago:
More struggle mounting. I looked into flights today from Canada to Harare and they are going for $10,000 CAN (economy class). I am completely shocked, abhorred and wondering how this can be possible. I have never, in my life, heard of a plane ticket costing so much. I am absolutely flabbergasted and have no idea what to do. It has been one thing after another and I'm completely exhausted. These stresses are wearing on my health and sense of well-being. Please pray that a cheap flight would be reserved for me by the Lord. I'm almost too exhausted to pray for myself. If it not for the scripture saying that we are bent, but not broken, I would have to say that's this is how I feel.
Update - 7 months ago:
I've been feeling very depressed as of late and can't seem to shake it. It seems that everything has been so difficult since I've returned from Zimbabwe. I'm completely exhausted and brow beaten. Ronald and I plan to marry in Zimbabwe when I go there on Dec. 17. I'll only be there for 2 weeks. I finally purchased a plane tickets, but it was pretty expensive. I think that I feel depressed knowing that I'll be getting married where I will have no friends or family to witness or support me. I will have to fund the entire cost of the wedding and I'm not sure that Ronald has even told his family yet that we are going to get married. Despite the challenges, we're moving forward. I just pray that God has something big and special planned for us. Please pray for us and pray for Ronald who has very unique challenges he must face.

please make a way where there is no way. create possibilities and show your love thru this dear souls. draw them close lord.. bless them and allow your holy spirit to move thru them and that the love of the lord jesus would shine thru and be seen by others around them.

I see a lot of the same problems I am dealing with in your story. He isn't fighting for a visa, but we are separated by thousands and thousands of miles, and other complications.
