Growth Persuasion October 25, 2007 Prayer Answered

When trouble comes into our lives, we sometimes feel as if we’ve been hit broadside. We feel desperation and then we wonder, Why is this happening to me?

One possibility is that God is using a painful experience to get our attention. In Psalm 119:71, David wrote, "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes." And Hebrews 12:11 says that chastening "yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness."

Is God using pain in your life to lovingly persuade you to change? The season of trouble may not be easy, but if we let ourselves be trained by it, new growth will result as we become more like His Son (Phil. 3:10). —Cindy Hess Kasper

No chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but . . . it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. —Hebrews 12:11

We shrink from the purging and pruning,
Forgetting the Gardener knows
The deeper the cutting and paring

Affliction for God’s people can be the pruning knife to prepare us for greater fruitfulness.

Gwenette, honey. I KNOW you're not perfect, but you are very beautiful, and have a beautiful spirit, so, for those reasons, I'm going to let you off for your imperfections, and just thank God that you are you. Hope that's O.K. with you, and may God bless, preserve and keep you, and give you always a merry heart for " A merry heart does good to ALL the soul" (or something like that) It's somewhere in Proverbs. Thank you, darling, for your beautiful response. I'm SO glad that you've returned, and NONE of us are anything like perfect!!! Certainly NOT me! You said originally that "I'm no saint" and how I identified strongly with that remark!!! Been praying 4 U++++ recently, as I felt something must be wrong, and missed U so much. Where are you? Missing contact with you. Hope and pray that you are O.K. Maybe you have found "Mr. Right" in which case God bless you both+++ No news. Just calling in on your site to see if you've left any messages.
