I was out in town yesterday when I met this little elderly woman. She just started pouring her heart out to me about her husband of 57 years having had open heart surgery, 2/3 of his right lung removed due to cancer, which has since spread to his other lung. She told me with tears in her eyes that sometimes she just has to 'get out'. It was heartbreaking. I told her I would pray for her and her husband. She then told me that she was a cancer survivor of over 25 years now. She said she knew that God healed her because she did not have have the cancer removed, and she did not receive any treatments. So today, Lord, I pray that you walk beside this woman whose heart is breaking. Give her the love she needs to help make it through her husband's illness. Lord, if it be your will, heal this man that he might spend a few more days with his precious wife. I pray that you heal him, show her another miracle, like the one you gave her when she recovered from her cancer so many years ago. I pray, Lord that you surround this family with your love and light that they might enjoy this Christmas together, even if it be their last. Be with them, Lord, and help them through this difficult time. Show them that you are there for them. It is in the name of Jesus Christ that I ask these things. Amen
