Hi willow. Have posted a L-O-N-G response to your last reply to my prayer for revival/year of the gate and thank you so much for your very interesting response (about visions.) Don't forget Jesus' warning "BEWARE NO ONE DECEIVES YOU!" (Matthew 24/Mark 13/Luke 21) illustrating that DECEPTION would be the HALLMARK of the so-called "end-times" (I prefer the phrase "in-between-times" i.e. in-between the 1st. and 2nd. advents of Christ. Deception is rife in EVERY area of life, at present, but it is false teachers/prophets and leaders christians MUST be aware of the most, if we are not to become a "foolish virgin" (Matthew 25.) The "oil" in the lamps of the virgins is, by the way, the Holy Spirit. MAKE SURE that you are FILLED with the Holy Spirit,every day, so that He can lead you into "ALL TRUTH." Hi willow whisper. I too wondered about the saying "2008 is the YEAR of the GATE" when I first heard it, so, MY conclusions need not be YOUR conclusions. Right? First, Jesus said "I AM THE GATE THAT LEADS TO EVERLASTING LIFE." Don't forget, He is the Good Shepherd, which makes us "sheep." The Bible says, in fact, "WE ALL, LIKE SHEEP HAVE GONE ASTRAY" and in Psalm 23 the sheep/shepherd comparison is also strong. So, when sheep are rounded up, the sheepdog drives them towards the GATE to the pen (where they usually DON'T want to go!) In the same way, we are usually reluctant to go God's Way. It takes an incredible amount of suffering before we see that this is actually the VERY BEST way for us to go! Like sheep, or what? Jesus meant that there is no other gateway EXCEPT Him, through which we can pass into eternal LIFE, which He confirmed when He said "I am THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. No one comes to the Father, EXCEPT through me." Jesus therefore is the ONLY WAY to Heaven/eternal life. Again the bible confirms this when it says "There is NO OTHER NAME (except Jesus) BY WHICH MEN/WOMEN can be saved." In the Bible 8 is the number of Jesus, so 2008 is, I suppose HIS year, numerically speaking. If it is His year, and He is the "GATE" (by HIS own Words) then this makes 2008 "The Year of the GATE (=Jesus)" Hope this is clear, but, as I say, you don't have to agree with my musings. JAMES Chapter One verses 2-5. Not at all easy to "count it all joy" when we are being persecuted, especially by those who we expect to support us the most, but Jesus did warn us that "Your enemies will be of your own household." Also I have benefited enormously from practising the principles of "THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING" by Norman Vincent Peale. How about some hands-on healing prayer for your back, from "the elders" of your church, along with annointing with oil? This is what St. Paul told us we should do, when in physical affliction. He should have known, he was whipped for his faith, imprisoned, shipwrecked, stoned more than once, and mocked on innumerable occasions, yet he counted all these "light afflictions" "pure joy" because he always compared them to the "eternal Glory" to which he was headed. He lived his life in "the light of eternity." So should we also try to do, but, as I said at the beginning....."Not easy!" I pray this may somehow help and encourage you. In Jesus' mighty name.
