Baby Cooper

Please pray for baby Cooper. He had an mri done on Thursday and his parents got a call today from a surgeon and the doctor. They say they found a spot on his spine. He has numerous spots on his back and legs and also on his head. Please pray that this child is ok and that this is nothing. He is only about 5 monthls old. Please pray for him and his family. thank you
Update - less than a minute ago: 1/21/08 I was hoping to have some good news today. Unfortuantely Cooper had to go back to Birmingham this morning about the spot on his back. The doctors said it is a tumor and is wrapped around his spine and stomach. They are doing surgery in the morning. The doctors said he will need chemo after this surgery. Please I ask all of you to pray for this child. He is still just a baby and gonig through more than we would ever want to go through. Please pray that this tumor gets removed and no more problems will come to this child. Please pray for him to be healed completly. Please pray for his family as well at this time. Update - 9 days ago: 1/22/08 Cooper has come out of surgery and is doing fine. They said the tumor looks to be benign, but are not sure at this time. They did not take all of the tumor and hope to go back in on Friday to remove the other part. They are not sure at this point. They still have to do the test on this tumor to see if it is cancer. Please pray that it is not and that when they remove the other part pray that cooper does not have to have anymore surgery. Pray he doesn't have to have any chemo. I truly believe all of your prayers are being answered by God. Please pray for Cooper. Thank you all so much. As soon as I know more I will update. God Bless all of you may your prayers be answered
Update - 8 days ago: 1/23/08 The doctors have said cooper is doing really good right now. He will be able to go home tomorrow (Thursday) they said for at least a week, or until they do further tests on the tumor and make sure not cancer and see when they will need to remove the other part of this tumor. Your prayers have been helping this child so much. They still are not sure if it is cancer, but they have said it seems to be benign. Please keep this child in your prayers as we hope all tests come out good. May everything be good. That is basically all I know as of now. I will keep you all informed. Update - 7 days ago: 1/24/08 Baby cooper is at home for now. He is doing very well. Will have to go back next week to be checked (Thursday 1-31-08) The doctors said it will probably about two weeks before they want to do another surgery. Still waiting on all test results. Will let you kno God Bless
Update - about 3 hours ago: 1/31/08 Baby Cooper went back to the doctor yesterday in Birmingham and the doctors are saying they are 90% sure he has Neurofibromatosis.
Neurofibromatosis is a neurocutaneous syndrome, it's passed down through the parents' genes, and it affects the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and skin. It is no cure but can be treated. A very small percent can become cancerous. Can also cause these other problems :seizures (up to 40% of children with NF1 have them)
high blood pressure
scoliosis
speech impairment
optic nerve tumors (which can cause vision problems leading to blindness)
early or delayed onset of puberty. I could go on and on. This is just an example of what this can do to a person or a child. Please pray for this child. Please pray that the Lord will heal this child and may he not have any more complications from this or any other problems. Update - 4 months ago:

2/27/08 I am sorry but I don't have much of an update right now. Cooper went back to the doctor last week but they did not really say anything and just told the parents they are looking into some more things. But said everything and the healing of the place where he had suregery on his back is doing good for now. Nothing really to say to update, sorry. He had the week off this week, so no doctors, which i guess is a good thing. He will be going back next week the week of March 3rd. I will update you then. Until then please keep Cooper in your prayers. And may there be a miracle no other problems he will have. Thank you all so much and God Bless

3/18/08 Cooper is to go back to doctor in birmingham this Thursday. I will let you know what they say. Keep praying God Bless

Update - 4 months ago:

3/20/08 Cooper went back to the doctor today and they doctors said they want to see him agian in May. They say it is too risky right now to do any surgery but also too risky to send him home without it. But they said they would like to see how things go until then adn see what other options they might have. He will be seeing another doctor when he goes back that is a spcialist in this field. I will let you know if anything else comes up before. Please keep praying for Cooper so thay maybe with the Lord s help he will be healed God Bless you all

Update - 3 months ago:

4/10/08 Cooper got an update from the doctor the other day. They say the spots are not what they had thought they were. They say it is some other form of growth that usually stops growing, but has to be checked on all through life. They say they are 95% sure now it is not what they all thought. This can only be because of all of your prayers. That is all I know as of now. He has to go back and get checked in think they said in May. Thank you all. This would not be such a good outcome as of now if not for all of you and the Lord of course. God Bless

Dear Sunset; thank you so much for your prayers and kind words for my brother Joe Joe,it is very much appreciated.He goes for a scan tomorrow to see if these 2 last chemos that he took in fact did any thing at all,I pray he gets good news,I am so sorry to here about baby cooper,I will keep him in my prayers,I will ask Our Dear Father to wrap this baby in his arms and restore him to a full recovery ,so he may go forth and live the beautiful life that was intended for him.
