One week ago I asked all of you to pray that Tom would get good results from his spinal tap and thanks to all your prayers we did get good news that there was no cancer. Tom is still taking radiation treatments to shrink the mass on his spine but he is very upset because his bladder and bowel still are not working and he still has to have a catheter to relieve his bladder. On top of it his drs. have recommended he take 3 months of chemo as a precaution because of the type of cancer he has. Tom broke down this weekend and said he just can't take it anymore he said he just doesn't think he can go through it again. Tom has been fighting cancer for 12 years and every single time drs. said he would not live. First he had stage 4 lung cancer(less than a 5% survival rate but he made it) and had most of his left lung removed and drs made a mistake and didn't follow through with chemo afterwards and he got cancer in his ribs where the lung had laid against the bone so drs. cut out the remaining lung and ribs out of his back where the cancer was and gave him a 50/50 chance and he made it. He was recovering and feeling so much better and everything was going good but then he got pneumonia he recovered but his back where they had taken the ribs out broke open and would not heal drs had to start treating that to get the wound to heal they finally after 1 year got that to heal but then a routine MRI found 3 tumors on his brain so he had them lasered off but then one appeared and at the same time Tom's stump where the lung had been started bleeding out into his good lung and drs said there was nothing they could do but hope it would stop and heal on its own and he was put on a ventilator and put in a coma to relieve the lung once again your prayers were heard and he survived but during this time the one remaining tumor on his brain grew too large to laser off so he had to start radiation and it made him so ill he just finished with the radiation for the brain tumors which worked and shrunk the tumor by the way but he began having trouble having bowel movements and then he couldn't urinate so an MRI was done and it showed a mass on his spine so he had to take additional round of radiation to try and shrink the mass . Tom is just finishing with his radiation and still wearing the catheter to relieve his bladder and he is so upset because he is still unable to urinate and have bowel movements. Drs. say this should return but now drs. recommend him taking 3 months of chemo and this weekend he broke down he told me he just doesn't think he can go through anymore. He has been through so much and he love's God but I don't think he can take much more. Please continue to pray for him that he will find the strength once again to face this beast. By the way Drs. now call him their walking miracle because they just can't believe he has survived. Tom is living proof that God has heard your prayers and answered them. Thank you all!
