USUALLY WHEN WE ACCEPT THE LORD IN OUR LIVES AT ANY AGE, THE DEVIL WANTS TO REAP HAVOC WITH US. BUT HE IS A LIAR AND WE ARE GOING TO PLACE HIM UNDER OUR FEET RIGHT NOW. REMOVE THE LABEL OF "ADHD" FROM OFF YOUR BABY. DON'T EVEN CLAIM IT BECAUSE THAT GIVES HIM THE ROOM TO CREATE MORE AGGRAVATION FROM IT. STOP CLAIMING IT. TELL HIM HE IS GIFTED. TELL HIM THAT HE IS GOD'S CHILD. TELL HIM THAT HE IS A MINISTER. CLAIM THOSE THINGS OVER HIS LIFE. YOU ARE A GREAT MOM AND YOU HAVE A LOT OF LOVE FOR YOUR BABY. I CAN FEEL IT AND GOD IS GOING TO BLESS YOU FOR THAT. GIVE HIM BACK TO GOD AND SIT BACK AND WATCH YOUR DADDY WORK.

Father, I lift Brandon up in prayer today. Please guide this family through this difficult time giving them wisdom, courage, love, hope, faith, and trust. Bless the teachers that are involved with Brandon. May they have patience and insight when dealing with situations that arise in the classroom. I pray for open communication that is positive instead of negative. We thank you Lord, for Brandon to have accepted You as his savior. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen

My sister in Christ...I stand fervently in agreement with you as you pray for your son Brandon. Over the years I've worked with children and adults with ADD and ADHD. my child has ADD so I can understand the challenges both you and your son face...My child is in her 20's now and it was a challening and rewarding experience. When she was first diagnosed I felt so relieved because I now had a name to put with the behavior...I also felt "I can handle this"...but guess what..it wasn't all about me...I'm a person who loves to read..so I read and researched everthing I could get my hands on about ADD...I even started a support a support group for Moms/parents of child with ADD OR ADHD...I'm sure you realize now just how many children and their families...have to deal with this... I spoke to all of her teachers during each school year...because some teachers just believe our children "have no home training...or that they are bad children"...my child was an "A" student...active in many school activies, was a cheerleader when she was older...had many friends and the teachers loved her...you name it she could do it...she was so creative and funny...and loving...BUT...it hurt her that her thought process was "different"...that it took her longer to accomplish tasks..that she forgot material that she'd studied and knew....I won't go on but I found a book that I still have...in fact I bought one for each of her teachers and gave it to them to read at the beginning of each school year....the teachers KNEW ME...they knew I would NOT allow my child to slip between the cracks....Here are a few points that helped me from this book... :
1. Keep a sense of humor.
2.Celebrate the ADHD child's humor, creativity, and passion.
3.The "patient" in ADHD is the whole family.
4. Don't argue, nag, or "scream".
5. Work to defuse disagreements BEFORE they begin...don't inflame them.
6. Pick your battles...ask yourself...is the situtation at that moment worth damaging your reationship with your child.....
7. If negative behavior is happening it's usually because the child is spinning out of control....or just plain frustrated....
8. This is hard work.
9. Take care of yourself...PRAY....eat...take vitamins...take walks...excerise...take a soothing bubble bath...etc...
10. Know YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THIS...AND SO WILL HE!!!!!!
11. Children who need love the most will often seek it in the most unloving ways...Negative attention can be thought to be better than no attenion at all...
12. You and your child did NOT ask to live with the effects of ADHD...
13. Forgive yourself...forgive your child... don't go to bed angry....
14. This is not a contest ...The winner is not the one who scores highest...The winner is the one whose child STILL speaks to them...STILL loves them when they geaduate from high school....

My sister please if you don't already have it...please purchase this book...it can be ordered from most book stores...Barnes & Noble can order it for you... the title of the book is :ADHD BOOK....LIVING RIGHT NOW! BY MARTIN L. KUTCHER, M.D. the book is short, easy to read, realistic, not a medical textbook, and 110 pages long...an easy read and well worth it...it also has a chapter in it for children to read with illustration...stories...etc...it's excellent for family members and teachers who are impacted by the ADHD... Mindyebenal...I Join hands and heart in the sprit with you today... I too, have a precious 12 yr.old son on medication with AD moreso than the HD... Yet it also has been hard on the family... He has been on medication for 3 yrs, and he too has accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and has also been Baptized. He enjoys Praying for all around him. He recently advised me that he wished he didn't have to take this medication. So I took him to "Cowboy Church" Where Dan.a stong man of God would stand in agreement with us on this. You must beleive that whereever 2 or more are gathered, there is God, in the midst... He explanied to JZ that he had to believe that with all his heart, God was going to fix it so that, one day he would no longer have to take his medication. I have since then, began to wing him off on weekends only. And we are both thanking God everyday that he is working all this out. JZ has learned to stop asking "when" he is trying to accept Gods timing. The rough time shall pass. It it only for a little while. Trust in the Lord. Have Brandon pray for his ADHD. I bought a christian book for his level and he recites those prayers daily. JZ and I will pray for the both of you...Glory to God...
