We have learned that Rebecca actually aspirated 2 liters of fluid into her lungs after vomiting due to a bowel obstruction. She was alone and they do not know how long she was deprived of oxygen before they managed to clear her lungs and get her started breathing again. She has spiked a fever and they are saying that she may be suffering from toxicity due to the bowel problems and having it back up into her lungs, etc.. A lot of the fluid that she aspirated was bile, which is very acidic and could cause problems in her lungs. She still has not regained conciousness and is not responding in any way. Need God to show off some more.

Rebecca is still in a coma and on life support. The toxicity problems were treated early and they say that if she does not have any more complications in the next 24 hours that they caught it in time to prevent a more serious situation. They have interviewed care givers and reviewed her care during this episode and to the best of their calculations, she was not deprived of oxygen long enough for her to experience any further brain damage. They are uncertain as to why she is still in the coma. So, now we wait for our God to answer our prayers once again. We wait for the great big God who brought Rebecca out of the 1st Coma to rise up and speak the Words of Life into her spirit again. And , we know that He is Able!

Praise God. They took Rebecca off of the respirator today and she is doing well without it. She is beginning to stir a bit, she opens her eyes for a few seconds at a time, but, she does not have them open long enough to recognize them or respond. They continue to try to talk to her, but see no response as they had during the last stages of her previous coma. This is very hard for her father who has stayed as strong as possible considering this whole ordeal. We are coming up to Easter and I am expecting Rebecca to be resurrected from her coma--where she is entombed alive. Please Lord, give us some sign of hope. Give us your strength to keep going and your faith to keep beleiving. Wrap us up in your peace as we wait on You and Your Miracle Working Power to show up yet again.

Glory to God!!! Today Rebecca opened her eyes for 2 hours. She recognizes everyone and is giving out hugs and kisses to all. She can follow simple commands--wiggle your toes, point to your nose, etc. She is trying to talk-"I Love You" she says, without any volume because she has a tracheotomy that will not let her speak. But, we are sure, that when she finally does speak it will be to say Thank You to all who prayed so that her life could be spared, and to give glory to the God who loved her so much that He would not let her go!!! Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support during this time. I have enjoyed your words of comfort and you are all so special to me. I can't wait to see your answers too!

I did not see the prayer answered button the last time I was here. But, this is what we were praying for concerning this request! Thank you all for your prayers and your continued prayers as Rebecca goes into Rehab.
