Omnipotent God, Supreme justice, Infinite bounty. At this critical junction, when sentence is about to be imposed on me, because as a mortal man condemned to err and commit crimes because of the circumstances of my life, I prostrate myself in front of you, the weight of my faults on my shoulders. I beg for clemency, O Lord, and the help of all good spirits, so that I may be helped in this such difficult hour of my life, where my freedom may be impaired by this outdated form of punitive sentence I face.
O my God if in this world we live in brother shall judge brother, because the laaw of men imposes on men this duty, you can influence all outcomes so that my sentence is minimal.
My soul hurts, My God, it knows that the man who judges the accused is his brother, and if I am to suffer my brother's judgement, My God, let it be you who influences his decision as you see my heart and soul inflamed with repentence and shame, ready too turn a new leaf, one dedicated to your service.
O good spirits, my Gaurdian Angel, do not abandon me. Influence the judge so that my sentence is minimal, and if I have to serve some time, make that time less onerous, my God. And I pray that the day when it shall be God who judges us in the promised land, under his just sentencing we shall all realize the bliss of our hearts, Amen.
