I hope you made it through the hurricane. You have been on my mind ever since Ike went through. Did you have much damages? I sure hope not and you and your family are safe.

Well I went to the doctors today for the second time since I have had the treatment. The treatment worked on one-half of the tumor but the other half not. So it looks like I will be going in for major surgery to have it cut out and skin graphing done. Which will be about Oct 8th and will be in the hospital for at least 4 to 5 days. I was hoping and praying that I would not have to have it done. But right now I just want to get this over and done with and get back to my normal self.

Dear Sweet Jesus, Please comfort Edith with Your grace and guidance. Please give her strength during the surgery and complete healing from all cancer cells. Please guide the medical team that will be caring for her during the surgery.

Dear Blessed Mother please be by Edith's side so that she may gain strength from you at all times.

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be going through a Study program for the tumor on my neck. It is a Pilot study of AuroLase therapy in patients with refractory and /or recurrent tumors of the head and neck. I will be the 2ND person to have this done. They expect to do 15 people before it is all over with. I will be the 1st person here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area to have this done. It consist of that thru an IV they will be putting what they call Gold nannocells into the body. And than the 2ND day they take me into the OR and insert laser to the tumor. It is suppose to start killing the cancer cells. I will be visiting the doctor once a week than every two weeks and than once a month. If this works and the after it kills the tumor than the doctor will have to do some skin graphing.

I will going in the hospital Tuesday Sept 2ND, and will be there till Thursday Sept 4Th at that time I will be released from the hospital to come home. So I am hoping and praying that this will work for I am getting tired of messing with this stuff. I will keep everyone inform of the progress as we go along. And I wanted to thank everyone for all the prayers that has been sent my way. Love ya all .

Received email from Edith:
I am doing pretty good. I still have to go and have chemo treatments every three weeks. But the tumor on my neck is shrinking so that is a good sign. The doctor says I am doing better than he thought I would.

Dear Sweet Jesus please continue to touch Edith with Your healing. Give her strength and comfort during the treatments. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

I had a Pet Scan done last week and I wanted to wait to see what the results were before I answered you. The news was not good. But keeping my chin up and praying that the outcome will be ok. The stuff in my chest is under control but the neck has flared up again. So I have to go back and have another round of Chemo not sure what it is going to be. I won't know till Thursday when the doctor get back with me. He is doing some research right now and he said to give him 48 hours. So I should know something by Thursday. I may have to go to MD Anderson in Houston not sure as of yet. Otherwise I am feeling ok just a little worried but we just have to keep praying that everything will be ok.

Glorious wonder-worker, St. Peregrine, you answered the divine call with a ready spirit, and forsook all the comforts of a life of ease and all the empty honors of the world to dedicate yourself to God in the Order of His holy Mother.

You labored manfully for the salvation of souls. In union with Jesus crucified, you endured painful sufferings with such patience as to deserve to be healed miraculously of an incurable cancer in your leg by a touch of His divine hand.

Obtain for me the grace to answer every call of God and to fulfill His will in all the events of life. Enkindle in my heart a consuming zeal for the salvation of all men.

Deliver me from the infirmities that afflict my body (especially throat area).

Obtain for me also a perfect resignation to the sufferings it may please God to send me, so that, imitating our crucified Savior and His sorrowful Mother, I may merit eternal glory in heaven.

St. Peregrine, pray for me and for all who invoke your aid.

St. Peregrine is the Patron saint for individuals, family members and care-givers whose lives have been touched by cancer and other serious illnesses to come to pray for healing, to come in thanksgiving for a petition answered or to come in remembrance of a loved one who has died from cancer.

Thank you for the prayers.
I am hanging in there. I am still going every 3 weeks for Chemo and taking these strong pills two weeks on and one week off of them. My oncologist is sending me to a ENT specialist for he is looking at surgery if the chemo does not help. So he is looking at all of the aspects that he can as he does not want to go to surgery but if he has to he will. Otherwise I feel pretty good. Working every day except for this week I am off for vacation. Tuesday I have to go to the ENT and have a CT scan done and see what the ENT has to say.
