Dear sweet Kienne - You have been through such devastation. Please know in your heart that God forgives you for any misgivings - you did it to save your children, and he understands! I am so sorry that you have been through so much abuse in your life. Know that God has been with you through it all, as you always found a way to provide for them....even if it meant stealing. I don't know where you live, but you can go to your children's school counselors and ask them to help you through Care Team funds that every school in the U.S. has. As them to fill out a School Social Worker Referral Form and have the social worker call you - both counslors and school social workers will have a list of other resources. There are food and clothing pantries in abundance - and they are aware of all of these. You can also go to a social worker at the Dept. of Family & Children's Services (or a similar name) and they can help you with finances. Also go to Salvation Army, United Way (toll free 211 can give you 5 numbers with every call for other resources - just tell them what city you live in and what you need! You may call as often as you like!), Red Cross - SA & RC will have you make an appointment so try to get it NOW as it's the beginning of the month and they receive funds early on and it goes fast. The school counselor and school social worker can also give you the name of a therapist who will do counseling for free or at a very reduced cost...you can also go to your church. ALL pastors, ministers, priests are also trained counselors and there is NO FEE! I so hope that this has been helpful to you. You deserve all of God's blessings and miracles! I will pray for your overall situation but especially for your housing needs. Is there a Habitat for Humanity in your area? It isn't an instant solution to your housing situation but I have worked with them in Omaha and they do great things for people turning around people's lives by following the economics of Jesus. In Luke it says to "pray night and day, and to not lose heart". I pray Habitat can be part of your solution.
