Prayer to move forward with my career choice

I have chosen to enter into the healthcare field. I have had a somewhat troublesome past police, and when you are involved in this kind of work they do FBI background checks on individuals. I have had some misdemeanors from well over ten years ago, that may affect the furthering of my career in the healthcare field. While almost all of the disqualifying offenses are felonies, there are a few misdemeanors that will disqualify a person. While, I do not actually have any of the disqualifying offenses on my police record, I do have one, possibly two of those offenses that could be interpreted as disqualifying.

I honestly do have a genuine concern for people and wish to help and comfort others. I am not a violent person and never have been, and I do have great empathy for others. My concern and hope is real. I am worried that one of those past offenses from when I was a teenager and very young adult may prevent me from furthering the path I chosen. Other professional peers feel that my empathy and good nature would make this a fitting career for me.

I pray that God will open a door for me and that I can find happiness and success down this path.

We all make mistakes. God has obviously laid this career path on your heart. In doing that, he will carry you through. My uncle was in his 70's when he ran for sheriff. The Lord wanted him to be the sheriff. He was the oldest man in the United States to go through the training you are put through and he passed. He was our sheriff for 8 years. He died 2 years ago at age 83. He was still the sheriff at age 82. While he was sheriff he led several prisoners to Christ. He had also been behind bars when he was younger. Do not give up. He never did even when he became sick at the end of his career. God will open that door for you. Hold on to your faith. Bless you for your desire to help others.
